2012 AFL Round 20 preview – Carlton Blues vs Brisbane Lions

Tagged one of the big chances for this year’s flag early in the seaon, Carlton currently sit eleventh on the table, two wins outside of the eight and two wins ahead of this weekend’s opponents, Brisbane Lions.

When the two sides met in round 2 earlier this season, Carlton continued their recent dominance over the Lions by thumping them by 91 points.

The two encounters prior to that results in wins to Carlton by 61 and 55 points.

Despite Chris Judd still serving a suspension, the fact that every game now a must win for Carlton given their precarious position on the ladder, they’ll be too hard to beat and will be more than ready for the Lions.

The Lions have won one of their past five matches, an eleven point victory over Gold Coast Suns – and are coming off a 48 point loss to Richmond which Captain Jonathon Brown describes as embarrassing.

The Lions will be out to right the wrongs from last week but will still not continue to score enough points to worry the Blues. The Lions have surpassed 80 points twice in their last six games.

Carlton are 11-7 this year when asked to cover the line, which for this game, has been set at 30.5 @ $1.92 with Sportsbet.

The Super Margin options of Carlton (30 – 39) @ $7.80 and (40 – 49) @ $8.00 could finish the weekend of on a high.
