The top two teams in the AFC West square off for the second time this season.

The Raiders inflicted the Chiefs’ only defeat so far in their title defence, a 40-32 Kansas City boilover in Week 4. Derek Carr (347 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT) outpointed Patrick Mahomes (340 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT) in what was just the Raiders’ second win in their last 12 encounters with the Chiefs.

After splitting their first six games, the Raiders have improved to 6-3 with three straight wins over the Browns, Chargers and Broncos – the latter a commanding 37-12 result. Their defence was brutal, while RBs Josh Jacobs and Devontae Booker combined for 193 rushing yards and 4 TDs.

The Chiefs have rolled on to an 8-1 record and a win here would effectively stitch up the AFC West title. After 20-plus wins over the Broncos and Jets, however, they made hard work of putting away the Panthers 33-31 in Week 10. Nevertheless, Mahomes passed for four touchdowns (making in nine TDs and almost 800 yards in the past fortnight) and has surged into MVP favouritism.

Kansas City have a point to prove and they should get the win. But they’re giving away 7.5 points at the line and both teams are 6-3 ATS this season. I’m backing the over in a clash between two of the NFL’s more potent offence.
