Dragons prop Miller retires from NRL

St George Illawarra prop Josh Miller has announced his retirement from rugby league, ending a nine-year NRL career that spanned two clubs and 122 games.

Miller started with Canberra in 2004 and then joined the Dragons on a two-year contract in 2012.

However, the club confirmed on Thursday night that the 28-year-old had decided to retire on the recommendation of recent advice by club medical staff.

Miller was noted as a fearless hitman throughout his career that resulted in a string of concussions, while he underwent minor ankle surgery in September.
