Gold Coast coach Garth Brennan is confident five-eighth Tyrone Roberts will overcome an Achilles injury to face Penrith on Friday.

Roberts has been battling the issue for most of the opening month of the NRL season however Brennan is adamant he is not risking further damage by playing.

“It’s more a pain factor for Tyrone and if he can put up with the pain and go through it, then he should have no dramas,” Brennan told reporters on Thursday.
