1. DEAR DEMI
Won the G2 Furious Stakes in good style two starts back and that saw here step out favourite at her last start, the Tea Rose Stakes. Got back on that occasion and couldn’t run down the leaders finishing fourth (beaten 2.9). Her record over the mile reads well and she can bounce back here.

2. LONGPORT
She has won three of her five career starts, with her most recent run resulting in victory (on protest) in the Tea Rose Stakes (1500m). She led and was able to dictate in that race and also did in her other two wins to date so expect she’ll go forward from her wide gate here.

3. JADE MARAUDER
She’s won two of her eight starts and in three runs this preparation, has ran third at her most recent two – Furious Stakes (beaten 0.9) and Tea Rose (beaten 1.6). Although not winning, she hasn’t been far away in recent starts and her early quote of $7.00 is about right.

4. FLYING SNITZEL
Raced here last week in the Reginald Allen (1200m) where she finished sixth of eight, beaten 3.3 lengths. She led them away at her previous start in the Tea Rose Stakes but folded late. It’s hard to see her figuring in the finish on her latest efforts.

5. NORZITA
She was first past the past in the Tea Rose Stakes before losing the race in the Steward’s room here a fortnight ago. Sat just off the speed on that occasion and form her draw, picture she’ll get a similar type of run and be in the finish again – maybe even make amends for her last outing.

6. URBAN GROOVE
Very impressive registering a five length win on debut at Kembla and then immediately tackled – and won – the Listed Reginald Allen last week at Rosehill. Got a lovely run behind the leader’s last start and was good late. The step up to the mile will be a big one but her Trainer has prepared them to have accomplished similar feats in the past.

7. CHEZ HARMONY
Chased home Proisir two starts back (beaten 5.1) and was then sent out at her most recent start as 6/4 favourite but failed to make an impression and finished a well beaten sixth in a Wyong Maiden. Not on that effort.

8. DUET
She has improved with each of her three runs the latest a good win in a Kembla Maiden when leading all the way. No doubt has her share of potential but a race of this quality might be upon her a bit too soon.

9. GONDOKORO
A Zabeel filly visiting from the Victorian stables of Pat Carey who, when last time he bought a young stayer to Sydney, won the AJC Derby with Ethiopia. Can’t see history repeating itself here though, given her last start third in a Geelong Maiden.

OVERVIEW
Dear Demi and Norzita hold early favouritism at $3.30 with Sportsbet Of the two, have a leaning toward Dear Demi despite her last start effort. She’s proven at the mile and expecting the tempo here to be a little more favourable for her than it was last start. Sticking with Norzita and Jade Marauder to fulfil the placings and happy to risk Urban Groove at the $4.20 given the jump up to the mile and off the quick back-up.
