Perth golf event secures rising star

European Tour history-maker and world No.32 golfer Branden Grace has signed on to play at the Perth International in October.

Grace joins defending champion Bo Van Pelt and Australian Brett Rumford, who won back-to-back events on the European Tour this season.

Other confirmed starters for the October 17-20 tournament include 12-time European Tour winner and 2013 Irish Open champion Paul Casey, and Australia’s leading amateur Brady Watt.

Organisers are also keen to secure the services of last year’s runner-up Jason Dufner, who won this year’s US PGA Championship.

In 2012, Grace became the first player in the history of the European Tour to win his first four European Tour events in the same year.

The 25-year-old South African has also been selected as part of the International team for this year’s Presidents Cup.
