Zimbabwe need two wickets to win the second Test against Pakistan on a nail-biting final day at Harare Sports on Saturday.
Pakistan are 47 runs short of victory in their fourth-innings chase.
Zimbabwe dismissed three Pakistan batsmen in the first session, with Adnan Akmal (20), Abdur Rehman (16) and Saeed Ajmal (two) falling before lunch.
The tourists edged to 8-217 chasing 264, with captain Misbah-ul-Haq standing firm on 58 not out to hold Pakistan’s hopes of winning the test at the very end and sweeping the series 2-0.
Zimbabwe’s attack was led by seamer Tendai Chatara, who had 4-48 and two of the three wickets on Saturday to give the home team a chance at their first win over a top Test team in more than a decade.
