World top 10 golfer Brandt Snedeker has been confirmed as a starter for November’s Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast.
Snedeker, the world No.9, will join Adam Scott, Rickie Fowler and Marc Leishman in the field for the November 7-10 tournament at RACV Royal Pines Resort.
It’s Snedeker’s first PGA Tour of Australia appearance in six years.
“It’s a great place to play golf and one of the pretty spots in the world so I’m excited to get back down under,” he said in a statement.
After securing four US PGA Tour titles in the past two years, including the 2012 Tour Championship crown, Snedeker said he’s keen to add an overseas win to his resume.
“That’s the one thing I haven’t done yet, win outside the United States,” he said.
“It’s part of the reason why I’m going down there and I’ve had some good finishes in Australia before.”
Snedeker’s nearest miss on these shores was a tie for second at the 2007 Australian Open, won by Craig Parry.
