Liam Foran signs with London Broncos

English Super League relegation favourites London Broncos have signed New Zealand-born five-eighth Liam Foran, who had a brief spell at Salford last season.

The 26-year-old brother of New Zealand Test five-eighth Kieran Foran will join the Broncos from Parramatta on a two-year deal from next season.

Foran played for Manly Sea Eagles and Melbourne before being snapped up by Salford last February but he made only 13 appearances in Super League before being released from his contract.

He says he has unfinished business in England, where he looks certain to be playing in the second-division Championship for the Broncos, who have lost all 17 Super League matches so far this year and are 11 points from safety.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge, having already played in the UK for Salford in 2013 where things didn’t quite go to plan,” Foran said.

“I’m determined to play some really good footy that I know I’m capable of.

“I know that I have come a long way in my rugby league in the last 12 months and I’m very confident that I can play some really good footy.

“Hopefully along with my fellow team-mates we can string some wins together and build some confidence as a club.”
