Michelle Payne has shared a picture of the scar left by her recent abdominal surgery as she continues her rehabilitation.
The Melbourne Cup-winning jockey posted a photo of the large scar to Instagram on Monday morning, more than two months after a race fall at Mildura.
The scar stretches from below her belly button towards her chest.
“Some scar! Thankfully getting better all the time,” Payne’s said in the photo’s caption.
A return to the saddle remains in doubt for Payne who narrowly avoided becoming a diabetic after tearing her pancreas in the fall.
She also briefly forgot her historic Cup win last year aboard Prince of Penzance following the incident at Mildura on May 23.
Payne said last month that while doctors were confident she would make a full recovery, she was yet to make a decision on her future.
