Koschitzke confident he can reach 200

St Kilda veteran Justin Koschitzke believes he has just a couple of boxes to tick to bring up his milestone 200th and last AFL game this weekend.

Koschitzke looks set for his first match in two months in the Saints’ clash with Fremantle at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

It would mean a fitting farewell for the former No.2 draft pick, who turns 31 next month but has battled a variety of niggling injuries this season.

He has played just four AFL matches this year.

“I feel comfortable. I’ve just got to get through training without being injured again,” Koschitzke said on Wednesday.

“The coach wants me to play. But … there’s a couple more boxes to tick, get through (training) today and Friday.

“I’ve done the rehab diligently and everything has come to a point where I’m fit enough to play AFL footy again.”

Koschitzke, small forward Stephen Milne and veteran backman Jason Blake will all retire after this weekend.

Interestingly, their last game will come against a Fremantle side coached by their former mentor Ross Lyon, who guided the club to the 2010 grand final.
