Bradl quickest in Czech Moto GP practice

P – Germany’s Stefan Bradl rode his Honda to the fastest times on Friday on the opening day of practice ahead of Sunday’s Czech Republic MotoGP.

He covered the 5.4-kilometre Brno circuit in 1 minute, 56.500 seconds.

Bradl, who comes into the weekend’s racing lying sixth in the championship standings after ten races, relegated Spain’s defending world champion Jorge Lorenzo into second spot on his Yamaha but only 0.038secs slower.

Fellow Spaniard Dani Pedrosa who won the race last season was third at 0.10secs after the opening two sessions while former world champion Valentino Rossi of Italy recorded the fourth fastest times at 0.226.

Current championship leader Marc Marquez on another Honda settled for fifth with the Spaniard at 0.233secs.

There is a third practice session on Saturday ahead of qualifying before Sunday’s race.
