The home team Melbourne City are the favourites for the match. View our preview and teams for the game between Melbourne City and Wellington Phoenix.

When: 17:35 | Saturday 21/10/2017

Where: AAMI Park

Preview:

City dominated the first half of the Victorian derby against the Victory and then managed to score completely against the momentum of the match to take the win on Saturday night. There is still a lot of improvement for City who will only get better as Ross McCormack gets more comfortable.

The Phoenix suffered their first loss of the season against Sydney FC, although managing to score twice against the defending champions is a good sign for the rest of the season. Roy Krishna, Kaluderovic and Vidosic looked dangerous against the Sky Blues.

FINAL SAY: The Phoenix will need to replicate their attacking intensity to keep pace with City who are good for at least 1-2 goals in this match. The big question is whether the Phoenix can lock down City AND score at the same time and at this stage of the season there hasn’t been anything to indicate they can do that.
