Sydney FC showed glimpses of brilliance against the Phoenix and clearly did enough to score 3 goals and take the win but other than that it was quite an even game in terms of possession and shots on goal. Wellington certainly weren’t disgraced and that is consistent with how they have matched up with the Sky Blues in the past.
There is plenty to like about the Wanderers who have recruited well and have some good attacking options in Kusakami and Riera. These two teams split the points in last season’s matches for a win, a draw and a loss each. We suspect it will be a close game with Sydney the more likely team to score twice.
