Cox Plate: Dean Yendall to ride Royal Symphony

Lightweight jockey Dean Yendall has secured the ride on three-year-old Royal Symphony in the Cox Plate.

The Tony McEvoy-trained colt, an unlucky fourth in the Caulfield Guineas, will carry 49.5kg when he takes on Winx in the weight-for-age showpiece at Moonee Valley on Saturday week.

Yendall rode Yankee Rose at 47.5kg in the 2016 Cox Plate in which the filly finished third behind Winx and Hartnell.
