American Lindsey Vonn stretched her lead in the overall World Cup with victory in Friday’s super-combined in St Moritz, her 48th career win.
Slovenian Tina Maze finished second with Austria’s Nicole Hosp third.
Vonn, the Olympic downhill champion, dominated the first leg downhill and a conservative approach to the ensuing slalom allowed her to keep Maze, the fastest in the slalom leg, in second at 0.41sec.
Vonn now has a 300-point advantage over Maze in the overall World Cup standings, and will look to stretch that advantage in the downhill Saturday, and another super-combined on Sunday.
Hosp, the overall World Cup winner in 2007, meanwhile stepped on to the podium for the first time since coming third in a combined event at Val d’Isere 11 months ago.
