Max Holloway vs Yair Rodriguez

Tip: Yair Rodriguez by KO/TKO at $8.00

There’s only one man that sits ahead of Max Holloway in the GOAT conversation in the UFC Featherweight division and Max beat that man twice (Jose Aldo).

A man that may surpass them both, Alexander Volkanovski, ended Holloway’s reign as Featherweight champion and backed it up with back to back wins against the former champ as his first title defence.

Max couldn’t have been much more impressive when beating Calvin Kattar to a pulp back in January in one of the most dominant displays ever seen inside the octagon.

He set UFC records in Most Strikes, Most Significant Strikes, Most Head Strikes, Most Body Strikes in a single UFC fight during that win.

Also, the highest significant strike differential in a fight in UFC history with 312 more than his opponent!

Yair Rodriguez has just the one loss to his name in a UFC career where he has not been that active.

He has fought 10 times since making his UFC debut in November 2014.

Since the start of 2014, Holloway has fought 18 times.

Max Holloway is a man on a mission toward another title shot and he is fighting as well as ever.

The former champ is making improvements and is only 29 years of age!

The pressure and pace that he puts on overwhelms the majority of his opponents and it really is hard to see him losing this fight.

In saying this, just like last week with the Usman vs Covington fight, the value play simply sits with Yair Rodriguez.

He is a very awkward fighter who can land that one punch/kick/elbow finish.

I recommend a very small bet that way, or alternatively just sit back and watch a true master at work.

Ben Rothwell vs Marcos Rogerio de Lima

Tip: Marcos Rogerio de Lima by KO/TKO at $3.50

He may paint his toenails before every fight but big Ben Rothwell is a problem for anyone in the UF Heavyweight division.

Rothwell comes into this fight on the back of three wins from his last four fights including finishes over Stefan Struve and Chris Barnett.

He takes on 36 year old Marcos de Lima who has 18 wins, seven losses and a draw from his 26 pro career fights.

Only four of those 26 fights have required the judges’ decision.

Rothwell’s pathway to victory recently has involved getting his opponent to the canvas and controlling the fight from there but this will not be an easy task against de Lima who is a BJJ black belt.

I give the advantage to de Lima on the feet, especially his kicks, and he looks the value play to end the fight inside three rounds.

Felicia Spencer vs Leah Letson

Tip: Felicia Spencer BY Submission at $4.50

Canadian Felicia Spencer went into her fight with Cris Cyborg back in July 2019 undefeated in seven fights including a submission win over Aussie Megan Anderson.

She has now lost three of her last four heading into this weekend including a failed attempt at the title against Amanda Nunes back in June 2020.

Her opponent on Sunday will be Leah Letson who hasn’t fought since The Ultimate Fighter 68 Finale almost three years ago.

Letson is a formidable striker but this really does smell like it has been set up for a Spencer win to get her back on track.

Spencer is a world class grappler who won’t be taking any chances, and I see her taking the fight to the ground almost immediately and working a submission.
