Titan Zillman out of Tigers NRL clash

The Gold Coast Titans will field a new set of halves against the Wests Tigers after losing five-eighth William Zillman to a leg injury on Friday.

Zillman had been moved from fullback into the halves alongside rookie Aidan Sezer following a bicep injury to Titans skipper Scott Prince.

But with Zillman struggling with a hamstring injury coach John Cartwright ruled him out before training at Skilled Park on Friday morning.

Jordan Rankin trained at five-eighth with Sezer, who will also take over the goalkicking from Prince, moving into halfback.

Cartwright was confident his new halves would acquit themselves well against the Tigers but did not dismiss the possibility of playing representative utility Greg Bird at five-eighth at various stages.
