Parramatta’s late-season surge faces another test on Saturday night when they welcome a vulnerable North Queensland outfit to CommBank Stadium. With both clubs lingering near the foot of the table, the stakes are high in the battle to dodge the wooden spoon.

The Eels have rediscovered some bite, following their shock 22-20 upset of Brisbane with a spirited showing in a narrow loss to Melbourne. Mitch Moses has been the driving force in their revival, while Joash Papalii continues to shine in the No.1 jersey.

North Queensland, meanwhile, remain the NRL’s most brittle defensive unit, having leaked 32-plus points in six of their past nine games. The return of Jason Taumalolo and Jake Clifford should stiffen their line-up, but their road woes persist — they haven’t tasted victory outside Queensland since April.
