Warwick Farm horse racing Tips – 11/12/2013

An excellent card of racing has been assembled for Warwick Farm on Wednesday, with the horse to watch being the Paul Messara trained filly Lundi, who caught the eye of most with her dominant debut win at Scone.

Race One: Australian Turf Club Handicap (68) 1300m Form Guide

Back Me:
Best bet across Australia this Wednesday for me in Lundi. She won two barrier trials and made her debut on her home track at Scone and was sent out a heavily backed even money favourite, and won accordingly with plenty left in reserve. Admittedly, she takes on a strong bunch of fillies here, but on the limit from a good draw, I’m confident she can get the job done.
Big Danger: Killcareless resumed with an encouraging third at Rosehill behind the handy galloper for Darley, Suit. Drops in class and Nash is back on board which is a huge tick given he piloted the horse to her lone win.
Roughie: Madam Ginoux was crunched in betting on debut at Kembla and justified the support with a top win, in particular her last 150m. That was the most impressive part of the win. Looks likely and shouldn’t be left of exotic calculations.

Race Two: Tab Rewards Maiden Plate 1000m Form Guide
Back Me: Echo Gal is a Waterhouse first starter who has trialled brilliantly, winning her lone trial by just over fourth lengths in slick. She is a Magic Millions purchase, so my suggestion would be that if you like her here, also back her for the Magic Millions.
Big Danger: Positive Quest looked to trial quite nicely at Warwick Farm in early November, winning comfortably in good time. The stable have been patient with her, and she looks likely, but bumps into a smart one in Echo Gal.
Roughie: I Am Snippety is on debut for Canberra trainer Neil Osbourne, and I liked the way she trialled at home when a close second to Quietly Brilliant, who came out a couple of weeks and won her first start by seven lengths, so the form is solid enough for her to sneak a first four spot.

Race Three: Vinery Yearlings Handicap 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: In what looks to be a tricky race, I’ll stick with War Jet, who looked in trouble when not clear last start at Hawkesbury, but eventually shoved his way into the clear, surged and won by a length. Has gone back to the trials and just glided at the back. The trainer/jockey combination should always be respected.
Big Danger: Sculptures was run off his feet early on at Wyong last start, but when he balanced up, he peeled out wide, hit the front and showed some grit and courage over the final 100m to hang on. Home track advantage is a big advantage, especially here at Warwick Farm.
Roughie: There was nothing wrong with the debut win of Darci’s Magic at Hawkesbury, leading all the way in a handy maiden race and bolting in. Looks to get a comfortable lead here, and at the 1400m start at Warwick Farm, that brings him right into the mix.

Race Four: Hyland Race Colours Handicap 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Confident Chris Waller will win the race with Forever Crazy. Leaning towards her, simply because she has the winning form on the board and tumbles 5.5kg from that win at Kembla. Gun draw for an in form apprentice.
Big Danger: Rosscarbery was a top first up winner at Gosford, then wasn’t suited by the slow pace on Goulburn Cup Day when fifth to Taya, who ran an excellent third at Randwick on Saturday. Give her another chance.
Roughie: Elusive Diva wasn’t too far away from them last start when sixth to Lucky News. She got a long way back, but found the nicely late. The form apprentice of the past month, Damien Thornton, rides and looks well suited. Big overs in betting.

Race Five: Terry’s Plumbing Handicap (75) 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Looking for some value and have come up with Fantastic Ballad, who hit the line really nicely first up at Canterbury behind tough campaigner Turf Hero. Is probably looking for a bit further than this, but there appears to be good speed in the race, which should give him every chance to run on from the back.
Big Danger: Chiaroscuro was given a peach ride from Collett to win first up at Canterbury. He obviously has talent, because he is a five year old gelding yet has only had four race starts, so he must have shown Peter Snowden something good to persevere. Hard to beat.
Roughie: General Sherman hasn’t been too far away in two runs this time in, against much stronger opposition hence the reason he has to lump 58.5kg. Saves his best for this distance, and with the barrier, Berry will be able to cuddle him for as long as possible and try and run the distance out with the big weight.

Race Six: Ibis Milano Lunch Special Handicap 2200m Form Guide

Back Me: Very keen on Goodwood Atlantis here. Loved her run first up at Canterbury behind stablemate Pentometer, then wasn’t suited by the slow tempo when fourth behind Tenacitus. Should be a bit more speed here, plus rising in distance, which is where she was at her best when over in Europe.
Big Danger: What you see is what you get with Mr Scary. He is a plugger who will just keep batting away at the same speed. Placed six of his last eight without winning, which is a concern, but senior rider is on now and gets back to a track he has raced well at in the past.
Roughie: She may not have beaten much at her past couple at Goulburn, but the way in which Siberian Rose has done it has been impressive. Not easy for a three year old filly, early in the season, to be older, more seasoned stayers, no matter where the race is. She deserves a crack in town and is a first four contender.

Race Seven: Warwick Farm Handicap (75) 1600m Form Guide

Back Me: Putting Campania on top. Both of her runs this time in have been behind boom mare and stakes winner White Sage at Rosehill. I thought she found the line nicely in the second of those runs despite the race not being run to suit. Should be a bit more tempo here, and remember, in the Autumn, she was only seven lengths away from Norzita in the Vinery Stud.
Big Danger: Megathink was starting to become the bookies pal, stringing together a number of placings, but got the job done at Canterbury for punters last start. Now that he has got the win under the belt this time in, he could go right on with it.
Roughie: Myamira should have won two back at Randwick, but was caught wide with no cover and ended up getting beat only a half length. She then went to Newcastle and didn’t let down on the bog track when fourth. Back to a firmer surface and strikes a winnable race.
