Caulfield horse racing Tips – 11/12/2013

Caulfield will back up from last Saturday with another meeting this Wednesday. The rail remains out 13 metres, and the pattern last Saturday was that you needed to have momentum from the home turn, so keep that in mind when playing here.

Race One: Beveridge Williams Plate 1000m Form Guide

Back Me: Really hard race to kick off the day with next to no form at all. Simply putting Sakitto on top purely based on the facts that she is trained by Snowden, who is in white hot form, and the fact her sire, Domesday, is a noted wet track producer, and the forecast is for rain.
Big Danger: Ready To Fight has a few things going for her here on debut. Drawn the fence, on her home track, and More Than Ready’s progeny love soft conditions.
Roughie: Putting Jinx in because she has shown a bit of ability in a couple of barrier trials. Should be near the speed and around the money with a cheap sectional or two.

Race Two: Winslow Constructors Handicap (70) 1800m Form Guide

Back Me: Going with Cottonwood Grove. She bolted in when leading all the way at Traralgon, then looked to do the same here over 1700m, but was just caught the final 100m when she looked home. I think Froggy may have gone a touch early on her then, so I’m expecting her to jump to the front again, dictate, but hopefully Froggy will wait a touch longer before letting her down.
Big Danger: It was very hard not to be impressed by the win of Rainbow Storm at the Valley. He sat three wide for a few hundred metres before Rawiller pushed on and got him outside the leader, then cruised in the run before dashing clear on the turn and holding a substantial margin. Looks the major threat.
Roughie: Championmet is a beautifully bred son of Redoute’s Choice out of a Zabeel mare. Looked very impressive on debut at Kyneton, coming from last on the turn to win over a length. Like the fact that Moody has sent him straight to town, and on his home track.

Race Three: Hardings Hardware Handicap (64) 1440m Form Guide

Back Me: Jazz Song is one of the better bred youngsters going around, being by Fastnet Rock out of Group 1 winning mare Absolut Glam. She was very impressive on debut at Wangaratta, hitting a flat spot on the turn before surging late and winning quite comfortably on the line. Meets a handy field here, but happy to stick with her.
Big Danger: Good Music has had three runs so far in her career, all on her home track at Bendigo. The latest of those was a most impressive victory in a hot maiden race. The form surrounding her in all of her runs, along the likes of Mother Grace and Inishowen, should hold her in good stead here.

Race Four: KS Environmental Group Maiden 1440m Form Guide

Back Me: Could easily make a case for about 8-10 runners here, but we’ve ended up with Dubonnet, who was a real eye catcher first up over 1300m at Seymour, storming home from near last on the turn. Extra distance suits and is on his home track.
Big Danger: Synthetic should have won first up at Cranbourne, but his inexperience and tendency to lay in cost him dearly in the straight. Had he run truly, he would have won by at least a length. Massive threat.
Roughie: Don’t Kel Yamemma was most unlucky over the mile at the Valley when third, savaging the line over the final 100m. Dropping back in distance is a concern, but shouldn’t be too far away thanks to the gate. He is second emergency though, so hopefully there are scratchings.

Race Five: Lister Handicap (84) 1440m Form Guide

Back Me: Getting close to D-Day for Roses In The Glen. In saying that, she has had nothing go her way this time in. Got flattened at Geelong first up, then was wide with no cover at the Valley, then was pressured in front in Adelaide and pulled up sore. Maps very well here, and it certainly will be no disadvantage to be up on the pace.
Big Danger: There is certainly no reason why Sensational Report can’t win again. She may have been $41, but she was fabulous in winning over this track/distance, sitting three wide with no cover on a genuine speed. Draws to get a charmed run and a more economical one. Don’t underestimate her.
Roughie: Spirited Will is one of those mares who gets back and finds the line without winning. She is better suited over further, but is drawn well and Bossy has been booked first up which is a good lead.

Race Six: Spinal Cord Injury Network Handicap (64) 1440m Form Guide

Back Me: Bank Notes on top for me in a pretty tricky race to sort out. He had a charmed run in front last start at Bendigo and kicked strongly to win when required. He looks to have a bit of upside and the stable is flying.
Big Danger: Nesbo is first up here, but showed plenty of ability in his first campaign back in the Winter behind some handy gallopers including Dubonnet, who goes around earlier today, along with Written Off and Haussmann. He’ll sit back, but look to blouse them late.
Roughie: Under The Leaner copped a huge amount of pressure in front last start at Cranbourne but still fought on quite well to finish second, beaten just over two lengths. The winner of that race has gone on to race well since, plus that was his first run in a month, so improvement should be there.

Race Seven: Ramleigh Park Breeding/Racing Handicap (84) 1100m Form Guide

Back Me: Al Maisan is bursting to win another race now. Won three back at Sale, beating the above average Real Delight, then ran well behind Kiss Me Ketut before bumping in Prince Hussar last week. Provided she hasn’t taken too much harm from that run on the bottomless track, she should be right in the mix.
Big Danger: Prince Stratum had to win his maiden sooner or later, and he did it very impressively first up at the Valley, beating a handy bunch of maiden gallopers. He strikes a very winnable race here on his home track.
Roughie: Given his racing pattern of getting back and waiting until the final furlong, Thebarwonprince will have more bad luck than good luck, like last start at the Valley where he never ever got a clear crack and should have just about won the race. If they go hard in front, he is the one you want to be on.

Race Eight: Silvan Australia Handicap (70) 1800m Form Guide

Back Me: St Leger placegetter Bessano resumed over the mile at Ballarat and bumped into an in form type in Double Dee, finishing third. The 1800m will suit, Newitt rides, drawn well, hard to beat.
Big Danger: Prince Jester is ready to win now. Two lovely runs over unsuitable distances, but has caught the eye late in each. He gets out to a trip where he is unbeaten at, Nolen takes over and is in his backyard. Looks the main threat.
Roughie: Any hit of bias towards leaders and jump on Tombola. He was well backed pre-post last Saturday here, but failed to gain a start. He’ll jump, go to the front and roll along at a nice enough tempo which will allow the others to chase but at the same time a comfortable tempo for himself.
