Tattersall’s Tiara at Eagle Farm Tips, Race Previews and Selections – 24/6/2023

It’s the final Group 1 feature of the season and all eyes will be on Eagle Farm on Saturday for the 2023 Tattersall’s Tiara.

Some of the best fillies and mares in the country accept for the Tattersall’s Tiara every year, and there will be no exception to that rule in 2023 with the likes of Palaisapan, Chain Of Lightning, Ruthless Dame and Opal Ridge all engaged.

I’ve dug deep into the form of every acceptor and emergency runner, and you can find my complete 2023 Tattersall’s Tiara Tips below.

Suggested Bets

  • 3 Units E/W #5 Chain Of Lightning
  • Boxed Trifecta of the selections below

Tattersall’s Tiara – Winner

In my opinion, the Tattersall’s Tiara looms as the absolute perfect Group 1 race for Chain Of Lightning, and she steps out this week in peak order.

The Fighting Sun mare has picked of several nice races since making her debut, and she has looked a genuine Group 1 horse since her spring preparation last year.

She sat wide and up close to the speed in the Stradbroke Handicap over this route a fortnight ago, and I thought that she was extremely tough to hang on for sixth, only just pipped late by the likes of Palaisapan and Ruthless Dame, who have both drawn horrifically into this race.

If Luke Nolen can find a nice position without a lot of early work, I think that Chain Of Lightning will be in this for a long way.

Suggested Bet: No. 5 Chain Of Lightning

Tattersall’s Tiara – 2nd

She brings a different form line into the Tattersall’s Tiara to the other three that I have in my numbers, and I do think that Opal Ridge will be right in the finish again on Saturday.

The Rubick filly has been a revelation for Scone-based trainer Luke Pepper since making her debut, and boy was she good in the Darby Munro at Rosehill back in March.

Since then, she has continued to impress, and gave them a galloping lesson in the Luskin Star Stakes before only just missing in the Dane Ripper here last time out.

She’s at peak fitness, drawn and weighted well, and she is primed for another big effort.

Suggested Bet: No. 16 Opal Ridge

Tattersall’s Tiara – 3rd

Palaisapan has drawn into the Tattersall’s Tiara field out in 16, and she’ll just need a lot to go her way if she’s going to be in the finish.

It has been more than a year since the So You Think mare won a race, but she has been competitive around some above-average competition since then, and in some good races.

She is another galloper that has been set for this race, and she takes her place following an eye-catching run for fourth in the Stradbroke – a repeat of which would find her difficult to beat in the Tattersall’s Tiara.

Suggested Bet: No. 3 Palaisapan

Tattersall’s Tiara – 4th

This is another step up in class for Comrade Rosa, but there is no doubt that she has found career-best form this time, and as long as she holds that on Saturday, she’s a competitive chance.

The Capitalist mare has always hinted at above-average ability, but she has really started to realise it since arriving in Tony Gollan’s care.

Having returned this time to finish a credible third in the Bright Shadow at Doomben last month, Comrade Rosa is chasing a hat-trick this week following consecutive wins in the Helen Coughlan and the Dane Ripper, and she’s drawn to receive every chance.

Suggested Bet: No. 11 Comrade Rosa
