NSW have made a positive start to their Sheffield Shield run chase after former Test bowler Doug Bollinger took four wickets to bowl Queensland out for 243.
The Blues went to lunch on day two at 1-49, recovering after losing the early wicket of Scott Henry for a duck, needing another 195 runs to claim first innings points at Manuka Oval.
Peter Nevill is 27 not out with David Dawson unbeaten on 16, while Bulls paceman Luke Feldman (1-14) had Henry trapped lbw.
The pair have put on 44 runs since the loss of Henry after quickly running through the Bulls lower order in the opening session on Wednesday.
Chasing early wickets, the Blues found them from a reliable source as Bollinger took two tailend scalps to end the Queensland’s innings.
Following on from his bright first day, in which he took two wickets with the first three deliveries of the match, Bollinger again bowled with good pace and venom to finish with figures of 4-57.
Resuming at 7-198 the Bulls could only add 45 runs as Bollinger and Moises Henriques did the damage.
Ben Cutting’s spirited lower order hitting resulted in 37 valuable runs before he was caught behind off Bollinger.
Gannon (7) was brought undone by Henriques (1-56), fending a short delivery to Steve Smith at second slip.
Tail-enders Cameron Boyce (14) and Feldman (10 not out) put on 21 from 22 balls as Queensland’s last pair.
