Lakers rally past Celtics 97-94 in NBA

Kobe Bryant scored 26 points, including the go-ahead jumper in the final minute, to rally the LA Lakers past the Boston Celtics 97-94 in the NBA game on Sunday.

Andrew Bynum helped with a key hook shot with 15.7 seconds left and finished with 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Lakers (25-16), who closed on an 8-0 run after blowing an early 15-point cushion to improve to 18-2 at home.

Rajon Rondo led Boston (21-19) with 24 points and 10 assists. Ray Allen scored 17 while Brandon Bass added 15 for the Celtics (21-19), who lost for just the second time in the past eight games.

In New York, Lou Williams scored 28 and Evan Turner had 24 points with 15 rebounds, leading the Philadelphia Sixers to their third straight win while sending the slumping New York Knicks to their fifth consecutive loss, 106-94.

Cleveland Cavaliers had their first three-game winning streak of the season, 118-107 over the visiting Houston Rockets who were boosted by 30 points from Argentine Luis Scola.

Dwight Howard had 30 points with 13 rebounds in Florida, helping the Orlando Magic to a fourth win in five games while handing the Indiana Pacers their fourth straight loss, 107-94.

The Milwaukee Bucks snapped a four-game road slide, beating the Toronto Raptors 105-99.

Elsewhere, the visiting Atlanta Hawks clipped the Sacramento Kings 106-99, Memphis Grizzlies edged the Nuggets 94-91 in Denver and the visiting Golden State Warriors held off a late charge to turn back the LA Clippers 97-93.
