Tippett to leave AFL Crows

Forward Kurt Tippett is leaving Adelaide but where he will play in the 2013 AFL season is yet to be revealed.

The Crows confirmed on Tuesday Tippett will seek a trade to another AFL club.

Adelaide list manager David Noble said the club was disappointed but would now try to secure a good outcome.

“I can assure members and supporters that the club, including players and coaches, could not have done any more to try to convince Kurt to stay,” he said in a statement.

“In addition, we believe that our club has provided Kurt with an outstanding learning environment after drafting him as an extremely inexperienced 18-year old in 2006.

“On top of this we have always put Kurt’s best interests at the forefront as well as remunerating him at the top end of our player payments scale.”

Tippett, 25, played 104 AFL games for Adelaide and kicked 188 goals, including 39 this season.

Drafted from Queensland with pick 32 at the 2006 national draft, he made his AFL debut in the opening round of the 2008 season.

Where he will play next season has been the subject of much speculation with Collingwood and Sydney recently entering the scene as possible options.

It was earlier suggested Brisbane and the Gold Coast were likely destinations to allow Tippett to be closer to his family.
