Carlton Blues vs Port Adelaide Power Preview

Three weeks can make a big difference in footy.

The Blues are right back in the hunt for a finals berth on the back of a hat-trick of wins, dismantling Fremantle last week in aggressive, high-scoring fashion.

If Carlton wins out, they’ll be almost guaranteed a spot in the eight, but things are about to get real in a hurry against a Port Adelaide side shooting for its 14th straight win.

The Power haven’t been putting teams away by a big margin, but they’ve been a tough team to pin down for four quarters due to their work around the clearances and their ability to get the ball into the forward half of the ground.

Port has been the third-highest scoring team in the competition so far, which does put the pressure on Carlton given their problems in front of goal.

Unlike most inter-state clubs, Port has also been fantastic away from home, losing only once way back in Round 2 against Collingwood.

There’s a certain sense of belief starting to stir at Princes Park, but with the Power proving themselves as one of the most dominant fourth-quarter teams in the league, they might just sneak home in another tight one.
