Top seed Andy Murray wasn’t at the top of his game against Ukraine’s Illya Marchenko, but the world No.1 still advanced to the second round of the Australian Open in straight sets on Monday.
Marchenko, ranked 95th in the world, took the match right up to the Great Scot on Rod Laver Arena before Murray settled to score a 7-5 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 win.
The five-time Australian Open runner-up will face Russian qualifier Andrey Rublev in the second round.
