Once again the Wanderers were left frustrated with the officials and themselves after their 1-1 draw with Melbourne City on Friday.

Kerem Bulut (pictured above) replaced the injured Brendan Santalab and had a legitimate goal disallowed in the second half, which was made all the more painful after the striker embarked on one of the longest goal celebrations we’ve ever seen in the A-league before he eventually realised the linesman’s flag was up.

In the end they’ll be happy with a point because they lost their way after Tim Cahill put City ahead. They were better in defence but lacked real threat in attack.

Brisbane on the other hand will be pleased they became the first team to collect a point off Sydney FC despite conceding many chances to the Sky Blues in an entertaining match.

Roar keeper Michael Theo was superb for Brisbane and will have to carry that form into this match.

History has shown that matches between these two sides provide plenty of action, goals and entertainment and I expect this game to be no different.

KEY BATTLE: Jerrad Tyson v Jamie Maclaren

Tyson replaces Redmayne in goal for the Wanderers and despite having played very little football over the last few years, he put in a decent performance against City.

Maclaren (pictured above) was used as a sub against Sydney after starting in the Socceroos’ draw with Thailand midweek.

He should come back into the side and Tyson will have a lot more work to do this week.

The verdict

Roar have been a side who like to dominate possession but this season has been different, where they’ve been happy to catch teams on the counter.

Wanderers at home will try to dominate the game which will make for another exciting match.
