Newcastle v Sydney FC | Saturday, October 29, 5.35pm (AEDT), McDonald Jones Stadium

With Cahill’s City and Sydney FC grabbing all the attention, the unbeaten Jets have been under the radar with their two draws and a 4-0 thumping of the Roar.

Considering all the turmoil in the off-season with coach Scott Miller sacked just before the season, the Jets have made an impressive start.

Leaders Sydney FC have a perfect record so far, three wins from three games, nine goals scored, none conceded.

They’re on top of the A-League ladder and also in the FFA Cup final. Even at this early stage, FC look like one of the favourites for the championship.

Graham Arnold has built a strong squad with plenty of depth which means he’s able to keep the likes of Alex Brosque (pictured above) on the bench.

Brosque has had his fair share of injuries so it has been great for Arnie to ease him into top fitness without too much risk.

Newcastle will need to play with good tempo and take their chances as Sydney have shown they have goals in all areas and can win even when they have an off day.

KEY BATTLE: Boogaard v Bobo

Sydney FC’s new signing Bobo has made a terrific start to life in the A-League and Jets captain Nigel Boogaard (pictured above) will have to be at his best to keep him quiet.

The verdict

Sydney won despite having an off day against Wellington and they’ll build on that result and their great start by beating the Jets.
