British and Irish Lions flanker Sean O’Brien will face the judiciary on Sunday evening after being pulled up for alleged dangerous play in Saturday’s second-Test victory in Wellington.

O’Brien was cited for an alleged second-half swinging arm to Waisake Naholo’s head, which later caused the All Blacks winger to fail a concussion test.

The citing commissioner said the incident should have been a red card and sent O’Brien to a three-man panel in Wellington on Sunday.

They will determine if the Irishman can play in next week’s series decider.

O’Brien’s case will come just hours after the hearing of Sonny Bill Williams, who was sent off for a first-half shoulder charge to Anthony Watson’s head.

He was the first All Blacks player in 50 years to receive a red card.
