Knee injury sidelines Stormers skipper

Western Stormers skipper and flanker Schalk Burger will be out of action for up to six weeks after injuring his knee early in a Super 15 first-round win over Wellington Hurricanes last Saturday.

“Schalk has torn his medial ligaments so he is out of action for four to six weeks,” Stormers coach Allister Coetzee confirmed Monday to the South African media.

More cheerful news for the Cape Town franchise is that fly-half Peter Grant has completed club commitments in Japan and will have a medical assessment before a possible call-up for the home fixture against Coastal Sharks this weekend.
