All Blacks make sweeping line-up changes

Four New Zealand players are set to make their Test debut in the fourth Bledisloe Cup clash with the Wallabies in Brisbane on Saturday night, while the All Blacks have also named a new halves pairing.

With the trophy already in their keeping the All Blacks have included blindside flanker Akira Ioane in the starting side, while hooker Asafo Aumua and youngsters Cullen Grace and Will Jordan have been named on the bench.

Coach Ian Foster has made a number of other changes for the Test, which is also part of the Tri-Nations tournament, including No.8 Ardie Savea back from paternity leave.

TJ Perenara will start at halfback, partnering Beauden Barrett in place of rested star duo Aaron Smith and Richie Mo’unga, with Jordie Barrett will cover at fullback.

Ngani Laumape is at inside centre, while Rieko Ioane and Sevu Reece are the starting wingers in a new-look backline.

Foster said he wanted to give some different players an opportunity.

“We’ve been really delighted with the whole squad, so we feel that there are some players who are really putting their hand up and deserve an opportunity,” Foster said.

“It’s been a big three-week Test series to date against Australia; it’ll be another massive Test, so we’ve brought in some freshness and new energy into the group.

“We know how fired up the Wallabies will be, so we have to make sure we are as well, because we don’t want to give ourselves any excuses at the end of it.”
