Dick Johnson Racing is poised to announce Supercars rising star Anton De Pasquale as one of their two drivers next year.

The Ford team is on the hunt for two new racers in 2021 after three-time championship winner Scott McLaughlin’s departure to pursue an IndyCar career and Fabian Coulthard’s exit.

De Pasquale is expected to be confirmed in an all-new line-up alongside two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Will Davison after his departure from Erebus Motorsport was confirmed on Thursday.

Davison has been without a fulltime drive since the middle of this year when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the withdrawal of chief sponsor Milwaukee Tools from his Tickford Racing entry.

De Pasquale, 25, joined Erebus as a rookie in 2018 and claimed one race win and six podiums in his three seasons with the Melbourne-based team.

“As a team we were able to achieve a lot, I picked up my first win, plenty of podiums and we ticked a lot of boxes which was really cool,” De Pasquale said of his time at Erebus.

“I’ve learnt a lot in a rapid period of time, and that is due to the team I had around me.

“I was very fortunate to be picked up as a rookie by one of the top competitive teams in the category, and without that I wouldn’t be where I am today or have achieved what I have.”

Erebus has already promised a main game seat for 2021 to youngster Will Brown.

The future of Bathurst-winning driver David Reynolds remains unclear at the team despite being just one year into a mammoth 10-year contract.

Reynolds struggled for consistency throughout 2020 and has been linked with a move away from the team and his future wasn’t mentioned in Erebus’s press release announcing De Pasquale’s exit.
