The man with the fast mouth and even faster hands now has a mass fans following which has taken the sport to previously unreachable heights. After his record breaking knockout of Jose Aldo to become UFC featherweight champion, McGregor has traded victories in two absolute wars with Nate Diaz. Fresh off a grueling five round victory, history awaits the Irishman.

Eddie Alvarez
The man they call The Underground King, Eddie Alvarez has now been champion in four different MMA organizations. He may very well be one of the most underrated fighters in the world (still). Alavrez joined the UFC after taking over the Bellator MMA lightweight division and earned a title shot after his victory over former champion, Anthony Pettis. Not many people gave Alvarez a chance in his title fight with Rafael Dos Anjos (including bookmakers) but he did what he always does and proved people wrong, stopping Dos Anjos in the first round. This guy is no joke.

How it goes down?
One of the biggest advantages McGregor has over his opponent is how well he handles the bright lights and big stage and they don’t get much bigger and brighter than Madison Square Garden. It was clear that Jose Aldo was affected by the big stage and Conor made him pay. He will look to do the same here and come out early and put Alvarez under the pump. If Alvarez can survive the early McGregor barrage, he believes he has the cardio to take over the fight, as Conor showed he is prone to gassing in his battles with Diaz.
