Their first meeting saw the Hawks win 108-97 at home. Karl-Anthony Towns, who has averaged 34.6 points from his last five appearances against Atlanta, was sorely missed on that day and not much has changed since, with the two-time All-Star still out due to COVID-19.

As such, Minnesota has now lost 10 of 11 games after blowing a 16-point half-time lead to lose 97-96 against Orlando via Cole Anthony’s game-winner on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Atlanta overturned a 92-78 deficit entering the final period to defeat Detroit 123-115. Clint Capela (27 points, 26 rebounds, five blocks) was immense during that victory and without Towns to combat, his influence could again be decisive.
