Tedesco returns for Tigers

Wests Tigers fullback James Tedesco has been named to play his first game in over six months in the side’s final NRL trial against Cronulla at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday night.

Tedesco has been on the sidelines since fracturing his knee against Canberra in June last year.

New Tigers coach Jason Taylor has named Tedesco on the bench with former Super League player Shannon McDonnell to start at No.1 in a mostly full strength line-up.

Tedesco has a history of knee injuries. He was ruled out for the 2012 season after going down with an ACL tear in his NRL debut in round 1.

NSW representatives Robbie Farah and Aaron Woods will start against the Sharks along with the young halves pairing of Mitchell Moses and Luke Brooks.

Tigers: Shannon McDonnell, Kevin Naiqama, Tim Simona, Chris Lawrence, Pat Richards, Mitchell Moses, Luke Brooks, Aaron Woods, Robbie Farah (capt), Keith Galloway, Curtis Sironen, Sauaso Sue, Dene Halatau. Interchange: Ava Seumanufagai, Matthew Lodge, Martin Taupau, Brenden Santi, James Tedesco, Delouise Hoeter.
