South Sydney have rewarded rookie Andrew Everingham for a strong start to his NRL career by re-signing the winger through to the end of the 2013 season.
Everingham has been a standout since making his debut in round three against Penrith, with eighth tries in his six top grade games.
Initially viewed as a fill-in for injured star Nathan Merritt, the 25-year-old has established himself as a regular in the Rabbitohs line-up, maintaining his spot following the return of Merritt last weekend.
“I’m really grateful that the Rabbitohs have shown faith in me to re-sign me for another year,” Everingham said.
“Hopefully I can repay that faith with some strong performances on the field.”
The Rabbitohs, who have won four and lost four over the opening eight rounds, host red-hot Cronulla at ANZ Stadium on Monday night.
