Cronulla and NSW five-eighth James Maloney will be rested for Saturday night’s NRL clash with Gold Coast at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Sharks’ four other State of Origin representatives – Jack Bird, Andrew Fifita, Valentine Holmes and Wade Graham – will play, with Bird moving into the vacant five-eighth role and Fifita on the bench.

Titans coach Neil Henry confirmed on Friday his three Origin stars were fit and ready to back up as they attempted to climb the NRL ladder.
