Canberra will have four days in Townsville in the lead-up to their NRL season opener against North Queensland as they look to acclimatise to the hot and humid conditions that await them.
Coach Ricky Stuart’s side will travel north on Tuesday to get extra preparation in ahead of Saturday evening’s clash with the Cowboys.
Forward Luke Bateman said sprinklers had been on before training in Canberra to wet the playing surface and put more moisture in the air to help players get used to the tricky conditions.
