Racing News:

Andrew Noblet has Sydney Group One aspirations for Silent Sedition following her win in a stakes race at Caulfield, but only if the track is dry.

Silent Sedition led through to win the Mannerism Stakes (1400m) on Saturday and now Noblet is eyeing the Coolmore Stakes at Rosehill on March 11.

Ridden by Craig Williams, Silent Sedition started the $1.90 favourite with WilliamHill.com.au before defeating Thames Court ($8.50) by three-quarters of a length, with Miss Rose De Lago ($9.50) the same margin away in third.

Noblet said he intented to go to Sydney provided the track was dry.

“I wouldn’t like to go up there on an affected track like it was today,” Noblet said.

“If it looked good for her then I think she deserves her chance at a race like that.”

Silent Sedition has not raced on a wet track and Noblet said he had concerns judging by her workouts on the training track.

Noblet was surprised to see Silent Sedition leading on Saturday but had not tied Williams down to any pre-race plans.

“I left it up to Craig,” Noblet said.

“I thought she’d be two lengths off the lead but she jumped so well and he summed it up that she was the one to beat and it turned out that way.”
