Manly skipper Jamie Lyon has conceded his players let down coach Trent Barrett on his NRL debut.

Barrett was left embarrassed following his first game as head coach on Friday night, after Canterbury easily cast aside the Sea Eagles 28-6 in the NRL’s opening round.

Lyon insisted on Monday it wasn’t panic stations yet on the peninsula, but that Manly need to improve, and do it quickly ahead of their round two match with Wests Tigers.
