Manly fans’ reaction won’t worry DCE

Gold Coast-bound playmaker Daly Cherry-Evans says if he cops it from the Manly faithful at the Sea Eagles first home game of the season on Saturday it won’t worry him.

Cherry-Evans committed to a four-year deal at the Titans starting in 2016 a week ago after Manly’s morale-sapping opening round loss to Parramatta.

Manly’s round-two NRL clash with Melbourne at Brookvale Oval on Saturday will be the representative playmaker’s first since signing a four-year deal to move north.

He says if Manly fans’ reaction is not positive there is little he can do.

“That is really not of my concern,” he said.

“I’ve got a job to do and if people don’t want to support me while I’m doing it that is up to them.”

Kieran Foran is still to decide where he will play his football in 2016.

DCE says he feels for what his fellow premiership winning playmaker is going through.

“I can definitely see what Kieran is going through on a personal level,” he said.

“But as long as Kieran knows that he has the support of his teammates and his friends and family he will sleep well at night just like I did through the whole process.

“When we are on the training paddock it doesn’t come up, it’s not a thought.

Obviously when you step away from the training paddock you have a bit more time to think about these things.
