Lussick pleased for Parra to land Foran

News of Kieran Foran’s switch from Manly to Parramatta has been welcomed by the man going the other way next NRL season.

Eels prop Darcy Lussick will return to his junior club Manly on a three-year deal from next season, and while he’s disappointed he won’t be playing with former teammate Foran again at the Sea Eagles, he’s happy for Parramatta.

“It’s great for Parra. You’d struggle to find better five-eighths out there and he’ll be a great acquisition for the club,” Lussick told AAP.

“They are really lucky to get him. As far as not playing with Kieran next year, it’s just the way it goes with everybody moving around.

“He’s going to be great for Parramatta and I’m genuinely happy for Parramatta that they’ve managed to hold onto him.”

Foran has agreed to a revised two-year deal at Parramatta, with options for a third and fourth season.

His new deal is believed to have the $1 million get-out clause wiped and replaced with a clause structured around coach Brad Arthur.

Foran is free to walk away from the Eels if Arthur is sacked while the New Zealand five-eighth is contracted at Parramatta.
