Fifita could face six-week NRL ban

Andrew Fifita is facing up to six weeks on the sidelines after being slugged with a grade three dangerous throw charge by the NRL’s match review committee.

The in-form Cronulla front-rower was placed on report during the Sharks’ win over Newcastle on Friday following a tackle on Knights’ hooker Adam Clydesdale.

Fifita will sit out four games with an early guilty plea and six if he fights the charges at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday and loses.

St George Illawarra back-rower Tyson Frizell will miss two games if he gives an early guilty plea after being charged with a careless high tackle over the incident in which he knocked out Canterbury’s Tim Browne on Sunday.
