Eels salary cap fate sealed: Arthur

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur is adamant his team will continue to compete in NRL games no matter the final outcome of the club’s salary cap scandal.

Eels fans will soon be one step closer to gaining a resolution on the ongoing cap saga, with the club due to respond on Friday to the alleged breaches handed down by the NRL last month.

It comes just a day after the five Eels officials at the centre of the scandal submitted separate responses to show-cause notices seeking their deregistration from the game.

A final determination will then be made by the NRL within the next ten days, however Arthur has all but accepted the punishment, which includes the stripping of 12 competition points.

“Our fate’s already sealed, we know what’s happening,” Arthur said in Darwin, where they will play Gold Coast on Saturday.

“It won’t change our approach to footy, we got our standards we need to meet. Nothing will change.”
