Kangaroos back Darius Boyd will miss the rugby league World Cup due to a hamstring injury, with Penrith’s Josh Mansour called into the Australian squad.

It’s another blow for coach Mal Meninga after prop Andrew Fifita turned his back on Australia on Thursday to play for Tonga.

Boyd has succumbed to the hamstring complaint he battled during the latter stages of Brisbane’s NRL campaign, with the injury flaring during their preliminary final loss to premiers Melbourne.
