We’re back to Warwick Farm in Sydney’s west on Wednesday for another quality seven-race program.
The rail will be set out five metres 1000m-W/Post and three metres the remainder, and at publish we’re faced with a track rated in the Heavy (8) range.

Race 1 – 2:20pm – Harry Angel First Yearlings Handicap (1400m)
Publicist will take plenty of improvement from a competitive first-up effort, and I am confident that he will take a power of beating at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
The Waterhouse & Bott-trained gelding showed ability during his brief debut prep without breaking his maiden, and his condition just gave out a little here first-up.
Timmy Clark takes the ride and on exposed form, he’s certainly the horse to beat.
Race 2 – 2:55pm – Vinery Handicap (1400m)
Soprano returned an eye-catching effort Newcastle when resuming on Boxing Day, and she looks well placed to break her maiden at Warwick Farm this week.
The Sebring filly raced greenly during her brief debut prep and was sent to the paddock after finishing down the order at Canterbury in June, but I thought that there was a lot to like about her first-up run this time, and she strips fitter.
She gets some relief in the weights under Tyler Schiller and is drawn to receive a lovely run.
Race 3 – 3:30pm – Stud And Stable Staff Awards Handicap (1000m)
Rupertaar has recorded two wins from as many starts back this time, and she looms as the runner to beat again as she bids for the hat-trick at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
The Bjorn Baker-trained filly has made just four appearances at the races since debuting in July, but has stamped herself as one to watch, winning three times.
She put paid to them in BM64 company at Gosford last time out, and while this is another rise in class, she harbours plenty of improvement, and it is clearly the next logical step.
Race 4 – 4:05pm – Keeneland Handicap (1600m)
Travest typically steps out in tougher company than he strikes here at Warwick Farm on Wednesday, and it looks the perfect opportunity for him to return to winning form.
The Greg Hickman-trained gelding hasn’t won in four starts back this time, but he has raced well around some above-average gallopers, and hasn’t been too far from the winner on any occasion.
His form on a rain-affected track is good, and he is drawn to receive the run of the race.
Race 5 – 4:40pm – Bowermans Handicap (1400m)
Atlantic Seas needed her first run back this time to tune-up, but I think that she will prove tough to beat at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.
The Written Tycoon mare put the writing on the wall with a smart win on debut at Pakenham in June and was immediately put away, and she chased home some good ones here last month.
She gets into this race well under the conditions and can bounce back.
Race 6 – 5:15pm – XXXX Handicap (1400m)
This is one of the more open races on Wednesday’s program at Warwick Farm, and a horse like Fortified has claims on winning at a lovely price ($9 at publish).
Fortified has been freshened since finished third behind Suppression at Rosehill in November, and he has missed placing only once at this point of his prep previously.
We can have an each-way play at the price, and the horse is certainly up to the grade.
Race 7 – 5:50pm – Benchmark 72 Handicap (1200m)
This certainly isn’t the easiest way to end the day from a betting perspective and at publish, we’re faced with $5 the field.
Off Shaw hasn’t been seen at the races since September, but he is a multiple fresh winner, and he can strike in something like this.
The Tobique gelding struck in a race not dissimilar to this one last time in, and he is another galloper who will benefit from some relief in the weights on Wednesday.
