1. MABEL GRACE – T Turner (5)
She was rewarded for her consistency last start with a nose win over Miss Vinnoire in the Listed Jungle Dawn (1400m) under 60kgs. Goes up to 61kgs but has drawn to get a good run and she’s a mare that only needs half a chance in her races to be competitive.

2. UPON THIS ROCK – D Staeck (4)
She was a close up fourth behind All Legal first up in the Listed Skin Fitness Stakes at Hawkesbury before venturing to WA where, in two starts, she’s finished fifth (beaten 1 ¼ lengths to Peggie’s Dream and at her most recent start, sixth to Mabel Grace. Got shuffled back last start at a vital stage and can easily make amends here.

3. BITES THE DUST – J Noske (1)
Came from last on the turn two starts back to get within 1 ¼ length of Peggie’s Dream in the Listed Jungle Mist before running fifth (beaten 4 ¼ ) to Power Princess last start a fortnight ago. A back-maker who may need her fair share of luck from the inside draw.

4. ASTRA SKY – (7)
Broke her maiden status at her sixth start, two runs back, in a Bunbury Maiden and followed that up with a fourth (beaten 1 length) behind Scotland Street in a RST 72 event. Got further back then needed to last start but that being said, can’t see her winning her second start here.

5. COMTESSE LA GRAN – K Yuill (16)
Caught the eye with an unlucky fourth (beaten ¾ ) to Peggie’s Dream two back in the Listed Jungle Mist before drawing wide last start and finishing 6 ½ lengths from Mabel Grace in the Jungle Dawn Stakes. Her horror runs with barrier draws continues here but if looking for a bit of value, she may not be the worst.

6. DARK MISS – W Pike (13)
Made it two wins on the trot last start with a comfortable one length win over Mavromata in a F&M RST 74 race three weeks back. This time last year she was competing and performing well in, all the major WA fillies races and it looks like she’s getting somewhere near that form this time in. Draw will make it awkward but going well.

7. MISS TAHITIAN – P Carberry (12)
She has made up good ground at her last two starts to finish just behind the place-getters in the Jungle Mist and Jungle Dawn stakes. Fancy the step up to the mile, which she tackles for the first time, will be in her favour and would be one to include in any multiples.

8. MISS TIPSY TOPSY – J Whiting (8)
She returned from an eleven week break with a pleasing effort being Mabel Grace in the Jungle Dawn Stakes. Not a great deal of luck last start in the run home and will be better for that run and have her fair share of admirers.

9. MISS VINNOIRE – J Brown (11)
Went agonisingly close to taking out the Jungle Mist (beaten half a head by Peggie’s Dream) and closer again (beaten a nose by Mabel Grace) in the Jungle Dawn before flat effort by her standards when fourth (beaten 2 ¾) to Waterman’s Bay last week. She’s been up for a while now (this is her eighth run in this prep) and last start was a slight concern.

10. MORNING MIST – J Mallyon (14)
Another who has competed in the Jungle Mist and Jungle Dawn Stakes at her most recent starts and finished ninth (beaten 2.1) and eighth (beaten 3 ¾ ) respectively. She’ll get back from her draw and found it hard, despite the step up in trip, to see her making up the beaten margin of recent efforts.

11. RANTORINI – S O’Donnell (10)
Rider lost an iron when she finished 2 ½ lengths behind Peggie’s Dream first up before an unlucky third (beaten 2 lengths) to Mabel Grace in the Jungle Dawn. Not much as gone right for this mare and any change of luck, should see her in the thick of things here.

12. READY ON TIME – S Parnham (6)
She kept her good fresh record in tact when resumed with a good style of win last week over 1200m in a RST 68 Fillies and Mares race. Her second up record though, is nowhere near as good and coupled with the significant rise in distance and grade, happy to leave her out.

13. SAEZURI – B Parnham (9)
She’s had four runs in this time in with the pick of them being two starts back where she ran second (at 40/1) to Full Reign. Not much luck last start behind Dark Miss, finishing eighth (beaten 3 ½ lengths). Carried 59.5kgs last start and drops to 54kgs today and would rate her a trifecta hope.

14. TERMINADO – S Meeres (15)
Got caught in traffic first up in the Jungle Mist and finished 3 ½ lengths behind Peggie’s Dream before being well accounted for in the Jungle Dawn Stakes where she finished second to last behind Mabel Grace. Led at her most recent start and if she’s going to follow a similar pattern here, she’ll have to do too much work early.

15. THE OTHER HARV – (2)
She’s been well accounted for in two runs back from an eighth month spell and going on her last start eleventh of thirteen (beaten 6 ¼ lengths) behind Accelarometer, found it hard to think she’ll be a danger here.

16. TIFFANY YELLOW – C Staples (3)
After a convincing win two starts back in a RST 68 event, she had a dip at the Jungle Dawn Stakes and finished tenth (beaten 5.8 lengths). I can’t see her making up the margin of last start, despite the better draw.

SUMMARY
A very competitive race and I’ll be hoping the Rantorini has a change of fortune here. There’s a slight concern over the gate but trusting O’Donnell to find a spot and third up at the mile looks idea. Also keep a close eye on Miss Tipsy Topsy after her good effort first up off a break in the Jungle Dawn. Should’ve finished closer then and will have improved on that run.
