Another eight races will be run and won at Sandown this Wednesday, February 23rd.
The rail will be set out six metres around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Good (4) range.

Race 1 – 2:30pm AEDT – Ladbroke It! Plate (1300m)
Just three of the eight confirmed starters in the first have raceday experience, and the debutant Lalaguna is quite a short favourite.
I’m happy to stay out of this one.

Race 2 – 3:05pm AEDT – Ladbrokes Switch Handicap (1300m)
It’s a similar scene in Race 2 and Hollywood Park has opened our favourite, ahead of his competitive debut.
That being said, I think that the resuming Lottacheex’s experience will prove the difference.
Lottacheex had three starts during her debut prep, racing well around a couple of gallopers who have since franked the form.

Race 3 – 3:40pm AEDT – Ladbrokes Blended Bets Handicap (1300m)
There is a case to be made for a few in this contest, and with that in mind I’m keen to find the value, and I think that it might sit with Drone Strike.
Drone Strike has raced consistently since joining Gavin Bedggood’s Cranbourne set-up, and she is chasing a hat-trick of wins this week following dominant performances at Kilmore and Ararat.
This is harder, but she is rock-hard fit and has performed well in town previously, and we can have an each-way bet at around the $14 mark.

Race 4 – 4:15pm AEDT – Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Handicap (1600m)
Grid will take plenty of improvement into his second Australian start on Wednesday, and I think that he will take a power of beating.
The Siyouni entire was excellent in Ireland earlier in his career, winning over a mile at Cork and finding form around some notable gallopers.
I didn’t expect a lot of him when he stepped out here a fortnight ago, but he raced home well to fill the minors, beaten only a head, and I am confident he’ll take big improvement for that effort.

Race 5 – 4:50pm AEDT – Ladbrokes Same Race Multi Handicap (1800m)
Laybuy hasn’t missed placing in three back from a spell, and this looks to be another very winnable target for him.
The Savabeel gelding ended his last prep a close second in BM64 company at Ballarat, and he hinted at improvement when returning from a decent break to finish third in similar company at Geelong.
He has since won here at Ladbrokes Park and finished third in a tougher race at The Valley, and he steps out this week in peak order.

Race 6 – 5:25pm AEDT – The Big Screen Company Handicap (1800m)
I think that Guizot can finally return to winning form at Ladbrokes Park this week.
All-round, he has been a good horse for the Aaron Purcell stable throughout his career, and Guizot has raced typically consistently this time without winning.
He has options from the rails draw, he’s rock-hard fit and he gets some relief in the weights under Laura Lafferty.
The $7 we’re getting at publish looks overs.

Race 7 – 6:00pm AEDT – 50 Year Life Member John Adams (2400m)
Oh So Far boasts a fitness edge over most of her key rivals, and I think that will prove the difference in Race 7 at Sandown Park this week.
The Need Further mare has continued to improve with each start since resuming, and she charged home to score at this track and trip two starts back, before only just missing last time.
She’s another who is in peak order and with even luck, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.

Race 9 – 7:00pm AEDT – 50 Year Life Member Paul Reilly (1400m)
Forbidden City looks well placed to bounce back in the last.
Forbidden City returned a winner in maiden company here last month, but she didn’t measure up or beat a runner home in the Group 2 Angus Armanasco last time out.
Regardless, she strips fitter and will clearly relish the drop in class.
