Inglis Race Series Closing Handicap (1400m) – 11:10am

There’s a case to be made for many of them in this capacity field of two-year-olds, including Khumbila.

Khumbila has made just one appearance at the races so far, but mustered and eye-catching turn of foot late to finish second at Kembla Grange.

There could be a little more depth in this race, but I am confident that this bloke will enjoy plenty of improvement for that first race day experience.

Suggested Bet: No. 4 Khumbila

Bet Now: Randwick Race 1

Midway Handicap (1600m) – 11:45am

Ruby Flyer has continued to improve with racing and as the bar has been raised this time in, and I am keen to have something on each way when he steps out in this week’s Midway Handicap.

The Flying Artie gelding has won three of four starts back this time, and he was last seen greeting the judge nearly four lengths ahead of a BM68 field at Newcastle.

He steps out this week in peak order, but does require some luck in running.

Suggested Bet: No. 9 Ruby Flyer

Bet Now: Randwick Race 2

Highway Handicap (1200m) – 12:20pm

I’m sticking with Cannoli when she steps out in this weekend’s Highway race.

The former Price & Kent galloper has hit the ground running since arriving in New South Wales and Cody Morgan’s care, and finished second in Class 1 company two back before striking at her latest.

I like that she has been back to the trials since that race, and I’m confident that she can have an impact in something like this.

Suggested Bet: No. 8 Cannoli

Bet Now: Randwick Race 3

Best Of Bordeaux @ Coolmore Handicap (1800m) – 12:55pm

Louisville has returned to the races in good order this time and this looks the perfect Saturday metro race for him, in my opinion.

The Redwood gelding stamped himself as one to watch during his debut preparation over in New Zealand, and he touched down in Australia for an agonizingly close second in maiden company at Newcastle.

Since then, he’s broken his maiden at the midweeks before only just missing behind Aristonous over a mile here at Randwick.

Breeding suggests he’ll relish the 1800m, and he looks to be in peak order this week.

Suggested Bet: No. 7 Louisville

Bet Now: Randwick Race 4

City Tattersalls Group Handicap (1200m) – 1:30pm

Hi Dubai has only just missed at her first two starts back this time, and I am pretty confident she’s ready to strike at Randwick on Saturday.

The Highland Reel filly was only just denied in BM64 company first-up from a break, before again only just missing in a photo finish at Rosehill.

Fitter third-up, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.

Suggested Bet: No. 7 Hi Dubai

Bet Now: Randwick Race 5

Benchmark 88 Handicap (1400m) – 2:05pm

Battleton returned to winning form with an eye-catching effort here last week, and the floodgates could now be open!

The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding has continued to improve with each start back this time, and his victory here last week broke a decent run of outs.

He’s in peak fitness, gets some relief in the weights under formed apprentice Dylan Gibbons, and I’m keen to stick with him.

Suggested Bet: No. 3 Battleton

Bet Now: Randwick Race 6

Schweppes Handicap (1400m) – 2:40pm

Overriding has recorded three wins from as many starts this time and looms as the one to beat again in Race 7 at Randwick on Saturday.

The Nathan Doyle-trained filly has made only six appearances at the races since debuting, but she stamped herself as one to follow by winning on four of those occasions, and only just missing on another.

She’s gone to a new level this time and continues to jump as the bar is raised, so I am more than happy to stick with her until she gives me a reason not to!

Suggested Bet: No. 1 Overriding

Bet Now: Randwick Race 7

Racing For Good On July 29 Handicap (1600m) – 3:20pm

Stonecoat returned a winner here at Randwick last month and looks well placed to strike again this weekend.

The Pierro gelding ended his last prep with consecutive wins over a mile, including the Morphettville Guineas, and picked up where he left off with an eye-catching performance over 1400m.

The form out of that race has been franked, and Stonecoat is subsequently my best bet on the program.

Suggested Bet: No. 3 Stonecoat

Bet Now: Randwick Race 8

Robrick Lodge Eremein Handicap (1800m) – 4pm

Logan Street Lion is a horse that tends to improve with a couple of runs under his belt, and he steps out on Saturday third-up!

The Chris Waller-trained gelding has been a good and consistent horse throughout his career, picking off several races not dissimilar to this one.

He only just missed behind a fit Coal Crusher first-up this year, and he returned from a freshen-up to finish less than a length and a half behind the winner a couple of weeks ago.

The $7 about him at publish looks a touch of overs, in my opinion.

Suggested Bet: No. 6 Logan Street Lion

Bet Now: Randwick Race 9

Furphy Handicap (1000m) – 4:35pm

She wasn’t able to get there at the midweeks last time out, but I’m happy to give the speedy Passeggiata another chance in the last at Randwick this week.

Passaeggiata has won three of five career starts to date, including an all-the-way effort over this route first-up this time.

Fitter third-up and dropping in the weights this week, I think that she’ll take catching once more.

Suggested Bet: No. 8 Passeggiata

Bet Now: Randwick Race 10
